Welcome To CrossFit Warehouse

At CrossFit Warehouse, we want to assist in creating a community of like-minded people who are interested in pursuing personal fitness goals. Hopefully, through community and perseverance at CrossFit Warehouse health and wellness will become a lifestyle.

CrossFit trains your body in a functional way and in a different format than most have been accustomed to at a typical gym. You will be in and out in an hour, but you will have worked out not just harder, but smarter.  CrossFit delivers a different WOD (Workout of the Day) each and every day.  If you are bored with your current workout routine, don't want to spend hours at the gym anymore, or you are looking for a different way - your answer is CrossFit Warehouse.

At CrossFit Warehouse, you train in a small group with a coach working toward a common goal.  Members support and push each other to achieve things never thought possible.  The atmosphere of our group classes cannot be found at any typical gym.  This is at the heart of CrossFit, what helps you succeed in meeting your fitness goals and what keeps you coming back for more.  And yes, CrossFit is for you - CrossFit is for EVERYBODY.  Our clients are men and women ranging in age from high school students to retirees.

Athlete of the Month

  • Don Wilcox

    Name: Don  Wilcox

    Age: 44

Occupation: District Sales Manager, Wirtz Beverage - CFW Coach

In general, what is your athletic background? High School athletics, Competitive bodybuilder

How did you learn about CrossFit Warehouse?   John Pienta’s Brother, Dan

How has Crossfit Warehouse changed your life, lifestyle, and level of fitness? Before CFW, I was pretty much burned out on everything I tried to do in fitness.  And let’s be honest, before CrossFit, I really had no fitness.  Since joining CFW my desire to excel has grown, I feel like I did when I was a competitive athlete.  I have switched my eating plan to Paleo, even though this summer my diet has been primarily beers.  I am tightening that up.  I also quit smoking due to CrosssFit and on July 29; I will be 2 years smoke free.

List short/long term goals you would like to accomplish through CrossFit Warehouse:

My biggest goals are to get the movements that I haven’t been able to accomplish yet.  Muscle ups, both rings and bar, some Oly weight goals: 225 Snatch, 295 Clean & Jerk, and a Fran time of sub 3:30.  I also want to start taking the Trodo competitions seriously.  Those are the short term.

Long Term, to continue to show up, the rest will figure itself out.

What do you like most about Crossfit Warehouse?

    5:30 Baby!

Seriously, it’s the family atmosphere.  The people at CFW are my brothers, sisters, parents, and kids.

What is your favorite Crossfit movement?

    Anything with kettlebells

What is your least favorite Crossfit movement?

Muscle-Ups, damn muscle-ups…...oh, and any running

Just get back to full Paleo, I mean Full Paleo +Booze

I have 6 sisters (3 blood, 3 step), I want a Ford F-150 extended cab, I was/am a huge momma’s boy, my nickname since I was 13 is “Bucket” or “Buckethead”, I knew that I was going to go to the University of Iowa at the age of 11 or 12.

In 15 words or less, what does CF mean to you?

Everything, without it I would be lost.

  • Margaret Miller

    Age: Almost 27 (July 2nd!)

Occupation: Nanny in the West Loop

In general, what is your athletic background? Growing up I played almost every sport then in high school I did track (hurdles, high jump, long jump) and cross country.  I continued running on my own and doing 5ks, half marathons, Ragnar relays since then, but never lifted weights.

How did you learn about Crossfit Warehouse: My sister, Ellen, joined a few months before me.

How has Crossfit Warehouse changed your life, lifestyle, and level of fitness?

I used to think that running was enough of a workout, but now I can't imagine not lifting weights.  I was very intimidated coming in since I have never really lifted before, but all of the coaches and members were so helpful and friendly that I became confident in my abilities very quickly.  My level of fitness is the best it has ever been, I have never felt so strong, and CrossFit has even made me a better runner!  I had my best 5k time already this year!

List short/long term goals you would like to accomplish through Crossfit Warehouse:  My short term goals are to continue stringing more butterfly pull-ups together, walk on my hands, and get a bar then ring muscle up.  My long term goals are to compete in a local competition again, and to sign up for the open every year to see how I rank.

What do you like most about Crossfit Warehouse?  I love that it has such a friendly and positive environment!  Also, the people at CFW are so awesome and so supportive in everything!

What is your favorite Crossfit movement? Box jumps,HSPUs, and cleans are probably my favorite!  Oh, and pull-ups because I never thought I would be able to do one!

What is your least favorite Crossfit movement? Snatch is the absolute worst.

Favorite WOD: I love EMOM's and any WOD that includes box jumps!

What are you currently doing to try to improve your diet?  I went from weekly Taco Bell runs to paleo during the week and I've never felt better!  I love to eat out and try new places though so I definitely still have cheat days!

Favorite movie: How to Lose a Guy in 10 days, Pitch Perfect, Mean Girls, What's Your Number?, I pretty much love most chick flicks and comedies.

Favorite and/or current book:  Currently reading The Fault in our Stars.

Favorite music/genre:I listen to all types of music, but my favorite is definitely country!

Achievements you’d like to highlight within your life:  Finishing 4 half marathons (2 in different states), doing two Ragnar Relays in less than 6 months, volunteering and working with children with special needs.

List a few things we don’t know about you:

My fingers are very double jointed and when I was a baby the doctor thought they were all broken.

I'm obsessed with my 2 dogs, Bella and Conan and they are probably the cutest pups you will ever meet.

Besides Ellen, I have a younger brother and another sister.

In 15 words or less, what does CF mean to you?  Crossfit has given me a new confidence in things I never thought I would physically be able to achieve.
